Saturday's Scoop: 'New Urban Voices' Exhibit Opening at the Maximillian Gallery

Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Saturday in West Hollywood:
Maximillian Gallery at the presents an exhibition featuring some of the most original, prolific, and talented urban and street artists from LA and beyond. The opening reception is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The exhibition will be open every day, 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., by appointment.

The community will be introduced to programming as part of the of the Friends of the West Hollywood Library Book Store. The Center for the Study of Political Graphics (CSPG) presents a conversation about art and politics with poster artists at the West Hollywood Library from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. On display following the conversation will be tour of Decade of Dissent: Democracy in Action 1965-1975.
The Whisky A Go-Go is hosting Slipknot’s turntablist a.k.a. #0 this evening. Blogger Brent Mendoza recommends headbanging to your heart’s content as the multi-platinum metal maker takes the stage along with House of Faces, Bionicore, Mind Grenade and more at 7 p.m. Contact the Whisky for times and ticket info.
