Saturday's Scoop: Jones Coffee to Host 'Big Read' Talk

Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Saturday in West Hollywood:
As part of West Hollywood's 2012 programming, a PEN Center USA Emerging Voices fellow will lead a guided book discussion on selected themes of Fahrenheit 451 at Jones Coffee (Weho Patch's Readers' Choice for ""). Admission is free. The event begins at 10 a.m.

The author is coming to at 4 p.m. to discuss and sign The Garner Files—a memoir on the acting legend. Today marks James Garner's 84th birthday. According to the event description, Garner became Oklahoma's first draftee of the Korean War and was awarded with two Purple Hearts before returning to the U.S. and settling in Los Angeles to become an actor.

Blogger Brent Mendoza says: "Punch that DeLorian up to 88 mph, and revisit the of the glorious 1960s, when officially sanctioned The Doors tribute band Wild Child takes the stage for the ultimate flashback experience." Doors open at 8 p.m. This show is all ages.
