Saturday's Scoop: New West Hollywood Library Opens to the Public Today

The library at 625 N. San Vicente Blvd. will have its official grand opening from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Main Event: Grand Opening of the New West Hollywood Library

The city will celebrate the New West Hollywood Library today with a dedication ceremony promptly at 10:30 a.m. on the West Hollywood Park Plaza featuring a speech by best-selling author Jackie Collins, along with public tours until 2 p.m. Attendees will also have an opportunity to sign up for a library card at the Los Angeles County Library Tent. Free parking will be available at the at 625 N. San Vicente Blvd. (enter from Robertson Boulevard at El Tovar Place) and at the at 8687 Melrose Ave.

  • National Arts and Humanities Month kicks off today. The city of West Hollywood through its Arts & Cultural Affairs Commission is celebrating in a number of ways. For event details, visit www.weho.org/arts or www.facebook.com/artbeatwesthollywood.

The Forecast:

  • The National Weather Service predicts a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11 a.m., otherwise Weho will be mostly sunny, with a high near 83. The low will be around 60.
