Saturday's Scoop: Sunset Strip to Host Record Swap and Craft Beer Garden

The famed street will see record aficionados and beer geeks alike for two separate events happening all day long.

Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Saturday in West Hollywood:

Main Event:

The James Lot between the Hustler store and 9000 Sunset building will be transformed into a pop-up ColLAboration beer garden between noon and 9 p.m, featuring scores of hand-picked craft beers from 24 changing taps. There will be a $10 admission/membership fee, with pours ranging between $5-6.

Runner-Up: Sunset Strip Record Swap

Record Collector News, KLOS and The Sunset Strip Business Association are presenting a record swap from noon until 7 p.m. at the old Tower Records location (8801 Sunset Blvd). More than 40 collectors will showcase their stock of 100,000 records available for purchase. Tickets to the event are $15 for "early bird" admittance (12- 2 p.m.), or $10 with a canned food item to be donated.

Other Happenings:

  • In his first solo exhibition in Los Angeles, graffiti artist COPE2 brings Authentic to the Maximillian Gallery at . The exhibition will continue through August 17 and is open 1-8 p.m. by appointment.
  • The acclaimed Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles closes its 2010-11 season with , featuring Guest Conductor Andres Cladera. Saturday's show times are 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the Avalon Hollywood. Tickets are $15 - $55.

The Forecast:

  • The National Weather Service predicts a sunny forecast, with a high near 86, dropping to a low around 63. South wind will remain between 5 and 10 miles per hour.
