Silver Spoon Diner to Close Dec. 31
Longtime restaurant to shutter at 5 p.m. Saturday, website reports. New owners plan to take over space.
, the long-standing family-owned and operated restaurant at 8171 Santa Monica Blvd., is preparing to shutter in a few days, Eater LA reported late Tuesday.
The site points to the diner's recent window signage that reads: "Our last day of business will be December 31, 2011 and we will be closing at 5 p.m. Thank you for your years of patronage."
A public notice of application for ownership change in the eatery's window lists the new business' name as "Connie and Ted's."

The restaurant has been , according to a report released by the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
Chef Michael Cimarusti of the Melrose seafood restaurant Providence and Claim Jumper founder Craig Nickoloff are to take over the 25-year-old coffee shop. No word on what type of eatery the duo's new venture will be.
