Street Paving to Start Monday on Holloway and Nearby Roads

Construction work will also take place on Horn Avenue, Sherbourne Drive, Shoreham Drive, Palm Avenue, and Westmount Drive.

City street paving will commence on Holloway Dr, Horn Ave, Sherbourne Dr, Shoreham Dr, Palm Ave, and Westmount Dr. Monday.

The construction work for the upcoming week involves grinding off a couple inches of the existing deteriorated asphalt roadway, and then installing a rubberized asphalt pavement surface (uses recycled car tires), reports Mila Sologub of the City’s Engineering Division.

  • Grinding from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Westmount Dr. and Palm Ave.
  • Grinding from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sherbourne Dr. and Shoreham Dr.

  • Paving from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Horn Ave.

During the grinding work, there will be temporary no street parking and very limited access for cars in and out of driveways. Once grinding is complete, street parking will be restored.

The city will be suspending street sweeping parking restrictions during the week of June 27 on the streets under construction and adjacent to thembetween San Vicente to La Cienega and Holloway Dr. to Santa Monica.

After the major paving work is done during the next weeks, the contractor will be adjusting utilities, installing pavement markings, and installing traffic signal detector loops.
