Sunday's Scoop: What to Do in Weho on Father's Day

Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Sunday in West Hollywood:

Main Event:

Join in a community celebration of LGBT parenthood with the Pop Luck Club, the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center's Family Services Program, and the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services at The Abbey from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event features information tables, a photo display of children in the foster care system in need of a family, and a book signing by KTTV-TV Channel 11 anchor Christine Devine.

Other Happenings:

• This Father's Day, check out all the great restaurant deals in West Hollywood. From a Beer & BBQ Brunch to an elegant Sunday Night Supper at one of the city's top eateries, we've narrowed down our top five picks . 
•  is hosting a session from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Classes consist of two guided meditations, a talk and discussion. The cost is $10.
• will discuss and sign his book, Buddha, Standard Time: Awakening to the Infinite Possibilities of Now, which dwells on the theme of time, at  at 2 p.m. 
  
• Maggie Siff (Sons of Anarchy, Mad Men), Amy Brenneman (Private Practice, Judging Amy), and Jon Tenney (The Closer, Green Lantern) will bring contemporary short stories to life in a at the  from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Tickets are $28. 

The Forecast:

• Father's Day will start out cloudy, with areas of drizzle before 11 a.m., but gradually become mostly sunny, reports the National Weather Service. West Hollywood will see a high near 68 and a low around 57.
