Thursday's Scoop: Detroit Deathsters Black Dahlia Murder Coming to the House of Blues

The Black Dahlia Murder joins Nile, Skeleton Witch and Hour of Penance at 7 p.m. Blogger Brent Mendoza writes: "Get your fill of double kick and polyp inducing, vocal cord growling while mom and dad circle the block in the family station wagon." Tickets for this all-ages show are $23 day of show.

Madonna & Me

Laura Barcella will discuss and sign Madonna & Me: Women Writers on the Queen of Pop with guests Kelly Keenan Trumpbour and Huerta More at this evening. The book features more than 40 essays from women about Madonna’s influence on their lives. "No subject goes unexplored—from sex and money to fashion and identity, the stories are just as brazen, bold, and balls-to-the-wall as Madonna," according to the author event description. The event begins at 7 p.m.

Poetry Writing Workshop

As part of West Hollywood's The Big Read, which is a National Endowment for the Arts initiative, the is hosting a free workshop led by poet Steven Reigns, focusing on the power in the written words of emotions found in Ray Bradbury’s dystopian novel Fahrenheit 451. The Forecast

The National Weather Service forecasts sunny and mostly clear, with breezy weather conditions. West Hollywood will see north northwest wind between 10 and 20 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 25 miles per hour. Temperatures are expected to reach near 73, and drop to around 46.
