Thursday's Scoop: Alice Cooper Returning to the Sunset Strip
The "School's Out" rocker will perform for a one night only, soldout show at the Whisky.

Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Thursday in West Hollywood:
Main Event: Alice Cooper
The heavy metal entertainer will be hosting his Welcome 2 My Nightmare CD release party at the  tonight. The long-awaited sequel to his 1975 classic was released Sept. 13. Doors open to the Sunset Strip soiree at 7 p.m.

Other Happenings:
- A Power of Choice summit about reproductive rights is taking place from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Director's Guild of America. The City of West Hollywood anticipates more than 150 students, activists and community leaders in attendance, according to the event listing.Â
- An Urban Arts Subcommittee meeting is set for 5 p.m. in the Rent Stabilization Hearings Room of City Hall. The subcommittee will receive a presentation from artist Ed Carpenter and public art consultant Maria Luisa de Herrera for Stage III (Review Final Plan) for the Civic Art project at Plummer Park as part of the Plummer Park Master Plan Implementation, according to the agenda.
- Journalist and Rolling Stone contributing editor Janet Reitman will discuss and sign copies of Inside Scientology: The Story of America's Most Secretive Religion at at 7 p.m.
- Art historian/professor Juli Carson and professor Bruce Yonemoto will discuss The Limits of Representation: Psychoanalysis and Critical Aesthetics, and screen their film in progress, The End of the World at the Edge of the Earth at the . The event begins at 7 p.m.
