Thursday's Scoop: America’s Queer Comedy Festival Arrives in Weho
The Comedy Store kicks off LA Pride 2011 with three days of standup comedy, sketches, short comedy films, and improv comedy workshops.

Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Thursday in West Hollywood:
Main Event: OUTLAUGH 2011
America’s National Queer Comedy Festival, running through June 4 at , will feature standup comedy and the first Outlaugh Comedy Award, which will be presented to lesbian activist and comedian Robin Tyler. Thursday's 7 p.m. show begins with a student improv jam followed by standup at 8 p.m., featuring the likes of Jennie McNulty, Nico Santos, and Diana Yanez. Tickets are $5 - $15.

Runner-Up: Planning Commission Meeting
There are four proposals for billboards on the Sunset Strip—a v-sided sign for a three-story office building at 8335 Sunset Blvd., a two-sided billboard at 8535 Sunset Blvd., a v-shaped raised billboard for the at 8462 Sunset Blvd., and a 70-foot billboard for the at 9039 Sunset Blvd. Read what Weho resident Richard Rothenberg had to say in his .

Other Happenings:
- Actress and comic will be discussing and signing her book, The Best Thing About My Ass Is That It's Behind Me, at at 7 p.m.
- For MOCA's , NPR will bring together local noise musicians and sound and performance artists to facilitate a live performance gesture from 7-10 p.m.
- Dances with Films, now in its 14th year, will run through June 9 at the Laemmle's Sunset 5.

- The National Weather Service predicts a sunny forecast, with a high near 74 and a low around 54, calm wind becoming southwest between 5 and 10 miles per hour.
