Tuesday's Scoop: Weho to Celebrate National Night Out
Community, officials, law enforcement will converge in crime prevention and safety awareness event.
Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Tuesday in West Hollywood:
Main Event:
West Hollywood will be observing National Night Out with a dozen block parties. Area businesses have donated food and prizes for the events. Some of the parties will even have entertainment and dancing, as well as activities for children. Most of the block parties begin at 6 or 6:30 p.m. For a list of all the Weho National Night Out events, click here.

Runner-Up: Street Closures
Street closures for National Night Out will take place from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and include the cul-de-sac at Sherbourne Drive and Ashcroft Avenue, Lloyd Place extending east from Elevado Street to Norma Place, Rugby Drive from Westmount up to and including the driveway of 8617 Rugby, Lexington Avenue between Formosa and Detroit, Westmount cul-de-sac starting at the barricade just north of Santa Monica Boulevard up to 940 Westmount, and Vista Street from Lexington Avenue south to the alley just north of Santa Monica Boulevard.

Other Happenings:
- Jeff Mudgett, the great-great-grandson of H.H. Holmes, one of the first documented modern-era American serial killers, will present and sign copies of Bloodstains at . Signing and discussion begins at 7 p.m.
- The city's Woman and Books Club meets from 7-8:30 p.m. in Room 3 of . The reading selection for August is Case Histories by Kate Atkinson. Admission is free.
The Forecast:
- West Hollywood will see a sunny Tuesday, with a high near 88 and a low around 63, reports the National Weather Service.Â
