Weho Police Blotter: Vehicle Break-In, Hotel Room Theft, Purse Snatching
West Hollywood Sheriff's Station reports crimes during past week.

Over the past week, the has received reports of a car getting broken into on Vista Street, a purse-snatcher at The Den and a backpack thief at Whole Foods.
Purse Taken
Between 1:30 a.m. and 2:05 a.m. on New Year's Eve, someone stole a reveler's $150 Coach purse atop a table inside , the neighborhood bar and restaurant on Sunset Boulevard. The female victim said she stood up from a table where she left her belongings to talk with friends for about a half-hour. When she turned to retrieve her purse, she noticed it, along with all of its contents—Android phone ($150), Nikon camera ($125), debit/Visa card and a Colorado driver's license—was missing. Since The Den was closed at the time the theft was reported, West Hollywood sheriff's deputies were unable to investigate further.

Backpack Stolen
On Monday at approximately 10 p.m., someone stole a backpack containing a computer, disposable camera and 12 photographs inside market on Santa Monica Boulevard. The victim said he had set his backpack down on a seat next to a table and went to get some food in the deli. When he returned, his backpack and its contents were gone. The victim said he remembers seeing a man about 30 years old sitting directly across from him. The man was gone when he returned. Surveillance cameras did not capture anyone leaving the location.

Vehicle Break-In
A locked vehicle parked in the 1200 block of Vista Street was broken into between 12 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Monday. The victim said he parked his car on the street at midnight, and when he returned in the morning, he saw the passenger window smashed, and his laptop computer ($600) and carrying case ($100) missing from the passenger floorboard area. He did not see any tools used to break the window and could not locate any witnesses. The damage amounted to $500.
Hotel Room-Safe Theft
West Hollywood Sheriff's deputies received a burglary call from the hotel on Sunset Boulevard 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Someone entered and stole $400 from the victim's hotel room safe, which had allegedly not been working when the victim checked in. There were no signs of forced entry to the door, according to the report.
Wallet Lifted From Purse
A restaurant in the 7800 block of Santa Monica Boulevard was robbed on Wednesday at around 10:51 a.m. An employee told deputies that some time during her shift, someone broke into the front cabinet behind the register to steal her wallet from inside her purse. The suspect got away with a $400 Coach wallet, $70 in cash, and a Bank of America debit card. The restaurant's video surveillance showed a male enter the restaurant, walk behind the cash register and remove a wallet from a purse.
