West Hollywood Residents and Visitors Unfazed by Carmageddon
Locals at the second Sunset Strip Craft Beer Garden on Saturday are humored by the hype.
Cars were whizzing by the on Sunset Boulevard at Hammond Street on day one of what many feared would be the Carmageddon of all traffic jams.
Despite the closure of the 405 between the 10 and 101 freeways, Angelenos on the Westside still managed to make the most of their Saturday, drinking craft beer and getting to know their neighbors.
"We took Laurel over the hill to get here. It was an easier drive than it was to get to the ColLAboration Beer Garden last weekend," said Casey Lilenfeld, a North Hollywood resident. "Carpocalypse doesn't seem to be having that much of an impact—at least here."

Kim Jordan, a Culver City resident, was also surprised by her easy drive across town.
"I drove right up the road and was here in no time at all. In fact, we should have Carmageddon every weekend!"
