Guests came through for the Boys & Girls Club of the West Valley recently, helping the organization raise $78,000 at one of the organization's annual event.
The outdoor area at the Warner Center Marriott Hotel in Woodland Hills became a Cuban nightclub for the night for the June 28th Club de Cuba fundraiser. Guests played casino games, danced and bid on items in live and silent auctions. The event's Texas hold'em tournament drew more than 40 players, according to the club.
The funds will be used to support after-school programs for the more than 2,900 West Valley children served by the club. Approximately 150 children visit the Main Clubhouse in Canoga Park each day in addition to more than 600 children engaged in after-school activities at the Club’s nine additional sites, including Blythe, Reseda, Cantara Street, and Topeka Drive Elementary Schools; Hale Charter Academy Middle School; Canoga Park, Chatsworth, and Cleveland High Schools; and the affordable housing community of Tierra del Sol.
