By 2:30 p.m., county fire Inspector Scott Miller said crews had "a good handle" on the blaze, which was 70 percent contained. He said that there were no injuries or evacuations.

The firefighting effort was being conducted amid a red flag warning in effect over much of the Southland due to gusty winds and single-digit humidity levels.
