DUI Suspected In Deadly Woodland Hills Crash

A 50-year-old Tarzana woman was killed in a collision with an allegedly impaired truck driver on Topanga Canyon Boulevard

WOODLAND HILLS, CA — Authorities Tuesday released the name of a motorist who was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Woodland Hills that resulted in the other driver's arrest on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter.

Saori Hirai Padilla, 50, of Tarzana, died at the scene of the crash, which occurred about 1:45 a.m. Monday on Topanga Canyon Boulevard at De La Osa Street.

Ricardo Tejada, 21, of North Hills was arrested on suspicion of felony vehicular manslaughter after the pickup truck he was driving collided with Padilla's small sedan, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Tejada allegedly was driving while impaired, an officer told reporters at the scene.
