UPDATE: Elderly Man Using a Walker Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver
Police are hunting a black Nissan 300ZX with damage to the hood, the windshield and possibly the back window.
An elderly pedestrian using a walker was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver Monday morning in Reseda, police say.
The victim, identified as Asghar Abbassi, 83, was in a marked crosswalk when he was struck by the speeding car, police said.
The accident took place just after 6 a.m. on White Oak Avenue near Valerio Street, according to an LAPD alert.
“If anybody in the area of Valerio and White Oak happens to see a vehicle, a Nissan 300ZX, black in color with damage to the hood, the windshield and possibly the back window as well please contact us,” Det. Bill Bustos told KNX radio.
