Holiday Dessert 101: Fall Pear Crisp
This impressive dessert is easy to make and perfect for entertaining.
The holidays are here and the requisite parties are in full swing. This recipe will be the star of the show whether it’s served as a casual potluck dish or dressed up for a dinner party. Bay Area Chef Michele Wieser— aka Chef Shell the Dinner Belle— demonstrates how to make this simple but indulgent dessert.

6 Comice or Bartlett pears with skins on (skins contain all of the nutrients), diced and put in a buttered 9x13 pan. Sprinkle cinnamon over them.
In bowl add:

- 1-1/2 cups quick cooking oats
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1-1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1-1/2 cubes butter, melted
- Dash of salt
Mix together until crumbly, sprinkle on top of fruit. Bake at 375 for 40 minutes. You can also add blackberries, blueberries or honey crisp apples on top of the pears.
