Rowdy Woodland Hills House Party Broken Up By Cops
Police broke up a party Escobedo Drive hosting about 100 people early Tuesday morning.

WOODLAND HILLS, CA — Los Angeles police were called by neighbors to a Woodland Hills house early Tuesday morning to break up a party with about 100 people in attendance.
They arrived about 3 a.m. to the house in the 5000 block of Escobedo Drive after neighbors complained the party was loud, the streets were clogged with vehicles, and a man who looked like an armed security guard was trying to manage several angry partygoers, according to Officer William Cooper of the Los Angeles Police Department.
The crowd dispersed without incident after police arrived. It is unknown if the home was a short-term rental, who was hosting the party, and whether any charges will be filed.

Despite the Safer at Home Order banning large groups, many giant house parties have taken place, often at Airbnbs or short-term rentals in wealthy neighborhoods, all around L.A. The city has increasingly been cracking down on such events, especially to repeat offenders. On Aug. 5, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti issued a public order authorizing the Department of Water and Power to shut off power and utilities to properties hosting large parties or gatherings.
On Sept. 1, the LADWP shut off the water and power at a house in Cahuenga Pass in the Hollywood Hills that had hosted several large parties. Power and water were also turned off at the Hollywood Hills home of TikTok stars Bryce Hall and Blake Gray, who hosted two parties with hundreds of guests in August. Hall and Gray were also charged with misdemeanors for violating the Safer L.A. order, which could result in $2,000 and up to a year in jail.

In nearby Calabasas, YouTube star Jake Paul hosted a huge bash in July that drew the ire of Mayor Alicia Weintraub, and resulted in stricter regulations surrounding large gatherings and wearing masks in public.
Airbnb has banned parties at its properties indefinitely, and removed at least 50 L.A. County rental properties from its website after receiving complaints or notices of policy violations.
