Update: LAFD Extinguishes Woodland Hills House Fire

Los Angeles Fire Department personnel on Saturday night put out a major house fire in Woodland Hills in just less than an hour and a half.

Nearly 150 firefighters responded to the fire at a three-story house on the 5000 block of Calatrana Drive and knocked the blaze down in one hour and 25 minutes.

According to City News Service, the fire caused more than $1 million, destroying the home and spreading to nearby brush. The fire threatened nearby homes, but firefighters managed to hold the fire at bay.

Authorities said firefighting efforts were complicated by the hillside location and narrow streets, and one firefighter was slightly injured when he slipped down a hill.

Firefighters were expected to be back at the scene of the fire Sunday morning. Arson investigators are trying to determine the fire's cause, according to City News Service.
