UPDATE: Police Arrest Machete-Wielding Suspect Near Hart Elementary School
School was placed on lockdown during the search.

Earlier story:Â Hart Elementary School in Canoga Park was locked down Tuesday while police searched a nearby neighborhood for a man wanted for assault.
Police were sent to the 21000 block of Vanowen Street about 7 a.m., said Los Angeles police Officer Rosario Herrera of the Media Relations office.

The suspect was described as a man 18-20 years of age, Herrera said.
The LAPD lifted the lockdown at 9:24 a.m. according to KTLA.
