Updated at 12:30 p.m.—A man who allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted
a 19-year-old worker at Westfield Topanga Mall in Canoga Park on July 4 was
in custody today, police said.
Kioki Ray Snowden, 19, of Lancaster was arrested on Thursday and was booked on suspicion of kidnapping, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
Snowden was held on $1 million bail, police said.
The kidnapping incident occurred at about 5:30 p.m. as the victim left her job at the shopping center. The woman was standing near her car in the mall parking lot when she was approached by a man armed with a knife, police said.Â
The man allegedly forced her into her car at knifepoint and held her hostage for about three hours, sexually assaulting her and forcing her to drive him around the San Fernando Valley, Pasadena and downtown Los Angeles.Â
The man also used her ATM card to withdraw money from her bank account, police said.
