Pride Shabbat Service at Kol Tikvah - You're Invited!
Friday, October 19, 2018, at 6:30 pm is a special Shabbat service - you and your friends are welcome to attend!
You and your friends are invited to our Pride Shabbat on Friday, October 19 at 6:30 pm. Our service focuses on unity, equality and inclusion for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. The LGBTQ+ Equality service is filled with music, poetry, and prayer led by Rabbi Jon Hanish and Cantor Noa Shaashua. We proudly present a JQ International guest speaker David Kazdan.
David Kazdan holds a B.A. in Modern Jewish and Israel Studies from California State University, Chico. He also has a M.A. degree in Israel and Zionist Studies from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. While in graduate school, David created Israel Studies course syllabi currently being used in universities in China. As a member of the BGU development team, he was responsible for the creation of the Woodman-Scheller scholarship fund. Currently, David is completing an M.A. at the Zelikow School of Jewish Non-Profit Management at Hebrew Union College and serves as a development professional at UCLA Hillel.
JQ International was established in 2004, and is the premiere LGBTQ+ Jewish organization in Los Angeles. JQ celebrates the lives of LGBTQ+ Jews and their allies by transforming Jewish communities and ensuring inclusion through education, support, and identity-enrichment.
