WOODLAND HILLS, CA — The Ventura (101) Freeway has been reopened after a police investigation shut down the eastbound lanes during the morning rush hour in Woodland Hills.

The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert just before 8:30 a.m. Monday west of DeSoto Avenue in Woodland Hills. Traffic was backed up for miles while officers searched for some type of "evidence" in an undisclosed ongoing police investigation. The lanes were reopened by 9:30 a.m., but the DeSoto Avenue offramp from the eastbound 101 Freeway remained closed after the eastbound lanes opened.
