UPDATE: Fleeing Man a Suicide After Motorcycle Chase
Police evacuated tenants and surrounded the complex and around 10 p.m. sent in a K-9 unit, at which point a shot was heard.

The chase began around 7:05 p.m. in the 14600 block of Burbank Boulevard, near Van Nuys Boulevard, in Van Nuys when police tried to make contact with the suspect, said Officer Bruce Borihanh of the Los Angeles Police Department.
"He took off on his motorcycle, going through various streets in the valley," Borihanh said. "It was about a 25-minute chase that ended at Roscoe and Mason."
The suspect abandoned the motorcycle and ran into an apartment complex, Borihanh said.

Police evacuated tenants and surrounded the complex and around 10 p.m. sent in a K-9 unit, at which point a shot was heard and the suspect was found inside an apartment suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound with a gun next to him, LAPD Capt. Joel Justice said at the scene.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Justice said.

Update 9:33 p.m.:Â A search continued Thursday night for a suspect wanted for a weapons violation who led police on a chase through the San Fernando Valley.
The chase began around 7:05 p.m. in the 14600 block of Burbank Boulevard in Van Nuys when police tried to make contact with the suspect, said Officer Bruce Borihanh of the Los Angeles Police Department.
