With more than 1.8 million registered voters, Los Angeles now has the largest municipal community of voters in the western United States. According to the League, the figures are startling when looking at off-year elections, when local races and issues are decided. In March 2013 the L.A. During the fall 2012 election cycle, the League distributed more than 34,000 pieces of educational materials to the public. More than 290,000 people used their electronic resources, including the SmartVoter.org website.
