Bar Louie Closes Locations Across U.S., Including Colorado
The chain has filed for bankruptcy.

WESTMINSTER, CO — Bar Louie has closed several of its gastropubs in Colorado after the chain filed for bankruptcy. Restaurants in Westminster, Fort Collins and Colorado Springs have closed; however, the chain's Lakewood, Denver, Greenwood Village and Aurora spots remained open as of Monday evening.
The restaurant chain, which is known for its burgers, beer and cocktails, is headquartered in Addison, Texas.
Bar Louie has also closed several dozen of its "underperforming" restaurants in Wisconsin, Michigan and Ohio, the company said. A total of 90 restaurants will remain open.

The company said its employees and suppliers will continue to be paid during bankruptcy.
"Bar Louie is a profitable business focused on long-term growth with new investors. The sale through Chapter 11 will help us to focus on our profitable core locations and expand in areas that have a proven track record of success," Tom Fricke, Bar Louie's CEO, said in a statement. "Most importantly, it ensures that we can continue to provide superior service to our guests, implement an exciting range of new customer-facing initiatives, expand our marketing influence, and continue to offer the 5-star experience we are known for."
The chain said it hopes to come out of bankruptcy within 90 days.
