Coloradans React To Joe Biden's Projected Win
Many Colorado leaders have released statements after Joe Biden's projected win in the presidential race.

DENVER, CO — Many people took to the streets of Denver, Boulder and other Colorado cities Saturday to celebrate Joe Biden's projected win in the presidential race. Many Colorado neighborhoods were filled with the sounds of honking horns, clanging pans and shouting.
Coloradans gathered outside the State Capitol building, and most appeared to be following social distancing rules.
Supporters of President Donald Trump were also seen flying flags from their vehicles and gathering outside the State Capitol. Police officers were standing in between pro-President Trump and pro-Biden groups.

Now President-elect Biden said in a statement he is "honored and humbled by the trust the American people have placed" in a ticket that gives America its first woman vice president, 56-year-old Sen. Kamala Harris of California.
Biden and Harris secured the needed electoral college votes —including Colorado’s 9 — to win the presidency.

Gov. Jared Polis released the following statement after the results were announced:
“What makes America extraordinary is that our elections are safe and secure and that the results reflect the will of the people. Every legitimate vote is counted and a winner is declared and we all respect the process. In 2020, Coloradans showed the world that our election system is safe, reliable and our democracy functions at its best when we break down barriers to ensure more people vote. A new dawn is rising in America. Congratulations to President-Elect Biden and Vice-President-Elect Harris on a historic victory in Colorado and across the country and on focusing on what unites us all as Americans. I am excited to work with the Biden-Harris administration to continue building a Colorado for all, and a United States of America for all.

Morgan Carroll, Chair of the Colorado Democratic Party, released the following statement:
“They say the night’s darkest just before dawn, and after four years of the most corrupt presidency in modern history, it’s morning in America again. Our country was given a very clear choice -- four more years of Trump’s corruption and vicious dismantling of our norms, or a return to honor and decency in the White House with Joe Biden. As Biden has said multiple times, he will be a president for all of America -- not just those who voted for him -- and I echo his words that it is time for all our country to come together and put the past four years of horrible division behind us.
“We are all Americans, and under Joe Biden, we will build back better an America that has an economy that works for all, that listens to science, that protects our planet, and that puts working families first, not the ultra-wealthy. I offer my deepest congratulations to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, and my deepest thanks to all the amazing Democratic candidates who bravely stepped forth to run for offices up and down the ticket.”
Congratulations to my good friends @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris. It's been a long, tough road—but we are going to rebuild from this crisis and restore the soul of this great nation. I look forward to working with you in Washington!

America, I’m honored that you have chosen me to lead our great country. The work ahead of us will be hard, but I promise you this: I will be a President for all Americans — whether you voted for me or not. I will keep the faith that you have placed in me. pic.twitter.com/moA9qhmjn8
