The remains of Gannon Stauch, the 11-year-old boy who went missing in late January, have been "tentatively" identified, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office announced Friday. The remains were found in Florida, officials said.

The boy went missing from his home near Fountain Jan. 27. His stepmother, Leticia Stauch, was arrested in connection with his disappearance. She faces charges of first-degree murder.

"There is a gag order in effect for this case so we cannot go into any details," read a tweet by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.

A surveillance video from near the boy's home shows him getting into a red truck with his stepmother in their driveway at 10:13 a.m. Jan. 27, authorities said. The stepmother appears to return around 2:19 p.m. in the truck without the boy. She reported him missing just before 7 p.m. the same day, officials said.

Hundreds of community members and rescue personnel searched for the boy in several counties for weeks after his disappearance.
