Gov. Polis Issues Statewide 'Last Call For Alcohol' At 10 p.m.
The last call for alcohol at bars will be 10 p.m. for the next 30 days, Gov. Jared Polis said.
Alcohol sales at Colorado bars and restaurants will be required to stop at 10 p.m., Gov. Jared Polis announced Tuesday. The mandate, which is set to begin Friday, will remain in effect for the next 30 days.
Bars and restaurants can remain open later — it's only the alcohol sales that must be halted, Polis said. Liquor is known to lower people's inhibitions and cause lapses in judgement, which can lead to crowding and the spread of the virus, the governor said.
The state's standard last call regulation requires alcohol sales to stop at 2 a.m.

Counties and local governments will be allowed to request an extension of the new last call regulation after the two-week pause on variances is over, Polis said.
