90 Days In Jail For Former Westminster Cop's Misconduct Charge
Curtis Lee Arganbright, 41, was accused of sexually assaulting a woman while on duty.

BROOMFIELD, CO – A former Westminster police officer was sentenced in Broomfield District Court Thursday to 90 days of jail followed by four-years probation for unlawful sexual contact and official misconduct for an incident last year with a female passenger whom he allegedly raped in his squad car while on duty.
Curtis Lee Arganbright, 41, pleaded guilty in October to misdemeanor charges of unlawful sexual contact and official misconduct.
On Aug. 24, 2017, Arganbright was on assignment to bring home a woman who had been released from St. Anthony North Health Campus in Westminster. He was accused of stopping in Broomfield around 1:30 am. in a deserted area near West 144th Avenue and Zuni Street and then allegedly forcing the woman to perform sexual acts.

The victim in the case was "physically unable to be present for the sentencing hearing but her mother told the judge that her daughter was brutally raped and suffers extreme PTSD because of Arganbright’s actions," the District Attorney's office said.
Chief Deputy District Attorney Trevor Moritzky told the court that as a Westminster police officer, Arganbright was "entrusted with protecting those most vulnerable in the community and that Arganbright abused that trust" and "continued to blame the victim," the DA's office said. Arganbright chose this victim "because she was vulnerable," he said.

Broomfield District Court Judge F. Michael Goodbee said in a press release that Arganbright had a "duty to follow the law and failed to do so. When a peace officer abuses or misuses citizens, Goodbee said, this causes an erosion in the public’s view of the integrity of those involved in law enforcement and makes it harder for law-abiding peace officers to do their jobs," the DA's office said.
