Teens Accused Of Killing 2 Brothers In Lakewood Charged As Adults

LAKEWOOD, CO — Two teenagers have been charged as adults in connection with a Lakewood double homicide, the First Judicial District Attorney's Office announced Thursday.

Michael Anthony Mendoza, 17, and Marqueil Deandre Banks, 16, have each been charged with ten counts, including first-degree murder.

On Aug. 23, 18-year-old Damian Wikoff and 17-year-old Dillon Wikoff were shot in the Walmart parking lot at 7455 W. Colfax Ave. The two brothers were taken to local hospitals, where they died.

Banks has been charged with four counts of first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated robbery, possession of a weapon by a previous offender, possession of a weapon by a juvenile and two violent crime counts, the DA's office said.

Mendoza has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated robbery, possession of a weapon by a previous offender, possession of a handgun by a juvenile and two violent crime counts, according to the DA's office.

Both teenagers are being held without bond. They are scheduled to appear back in court Sept. 17.
