These Eight CO Hospitals Are Among The Best In U.S.: Newsweek

ACROSS COLORADO — Several Colorado hospitals were ranked among the best in America by Newsweek.

The magazine’s “World’s Best Hospitals” list for 2021 ranked the top hospitals around the world, including in the United States. It’s the third year Newsweek has published the list, for which it partnered with the data firm Statista.

Four Colorado hospitals ranked among the top 200 in the U.S., one was at No. 201, and another three hospitals were included in the overall list but did not rank among the top 200.

Here’s how Colorado hospitals were ranked on the list:

• UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital, Aurora: No. 23
• Parker Adventist Hospital, Parker: No. 131
• UCHealth Poudre Valley Hospital, Ft. Collins: No. 175
• Sky Ridge Medical Center, Lone Tree: No. 180
• Porter Adventist Hospital, Denver: No. 201
• The Medical Center Aurora, Aurora: No. 226
• Health One - Rose Medical Center, Denver: No. 261
• UCHealth- Medical Center of The Rockies, Loveland: No. 293

In its methodology, Newsweek explained that it looked at three data sources to compile the rankings: recommendations from medical experts, results from patient surveys and medical KPIs on hospitals.

Hospitals in the U.S. were also recognized for infection prevention if they performed above the national average based on data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

These six Colorado hospitals were recognized by Newsweek for infection prevention:

• UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital, Aurora
• UCHealth Poudre Valley Hospital, Ft. Collins
• Sky Ridge Medical Center, Lone Tree
• The Medical Center Aurora, Aurora
• Health One - Rose Medical Center, Denver
• UCHealth- Medical Center of The Rockies, Loveland
