ARVADA, CO — A juvenile was detained after four new threats Monday against Ralston Valley High School students and staff, Arvada police said. The threats were reported just a day after six Safe2Tell reports caused an early dismissal of students Monday.

A school resource officer received the latest threats around 10 a.m. Tuesday, police said. A patrol team secured the school, and the building reopened around 11:45 after it was determined to be safe.

Students were released early from the school Monday after a school resource officer received six Safe2Tell reports "in reference to a threat at the school," police said.

The resource officer coordinated with other officers and school staff, and students were released out of an abundance of caution, police said. Many police officers and security staff were at the school to ensure students' safety.

Investigators checked the school and no threats were found.

With help from the school staff, faculty and the Colorado Attorney General's Office, Arvada police were able to track down a suspect.

The juvenile female was "detained for threats against students, staff and faculty," the Arvada Police Department said in a tweet posted Tuesday morning.

She was taken to the police department and later transported to a juvenile detention center. She faces charges of interference with staff, faculty, or students of an educational institution.

Preliminary investigations indicate there was no credible threat or ability to carry out the threats, police said.
