Arvada Coronavirus Update: More Than 440 New Cases Reported

Here are the latest COVID-19 case counts in Arvada and vaccination rates for local counties.

ARVADA, CO — Over the past two weeks, 448 new cases of the coronavirus have been reported in Arvada, according to data from Tri-County Health and Jeffco Public Health.

Since the counties first started tracking the case data in early 2020, more than 9,600 Arvadans have tested positive for COVID-19, the agencies' reports show.

  • Jefferson County - 45,453
  • Adams County - 56,570

Total deaths due to COVID-19:

  • Jefferson County - 779
  • Adams County - 764

Around 66 percent of Jeffco residents have received at least their first dose of the vaccine, and 53.9 percent of Adams County residents have received their first dose, according to state public health data.

The state's vaccination data dashboard shows which Colorado counties have the highest vaccination rates per 100,000 people:

Percent of residents vaccinated with at least one dose:

  • Broomfield: 70.7 percent
  • Boulder County: 67.2 percent
  • Denver: 62 percent
  • Douglas County: 60.3 percent
  • Arapahoe County: 53.9 percent

Outside Denver's metro area, Eagle (70.9 percent) and Summit (72.9 percent) counties have some of the highest vaccination rates in the state.

Some counties have higher rates due to higher populations of people ages 60 and older, and front-line workers. And some eligible Coloradans are choosing to hold off on getting vaccinated.

Colorado has seen a surge of coronavirus cases over the past several weeks, and around half of those cases are variants, state public health officials said. Between Sunday afternoon and Monday afternoon, 743 new cases were reported in our state.
