ARVADA, CO — The Arvada Harvest Festival marks its 94th year this weekend, and three days of fun and activities will be underway Sept. 6 and continue through Sept. 8. This year’s theme for the festival and parade is “Arvada Frontier Days,” incorporating a Western concept throughout the event.
Arvada Harvest Festival’s history dates back to October 1925 when the community celebrated "the completion of the first concrete road between Arvada and Denver," organizers said. It's now hosted by a committee of volunteers with the Arvada Junior Chamber Foundation.
The festival also features a robust schedule of events including a parade, live music, carnival rides, games and vendors, as well as a garden harvest contest, spelling bee, food fair and karaoke. The fest will also include a free family-friendly movie screening in the park on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at McIlvoy Park, 5750 Upham St.
