ARVADA, CO — A little dog named Bear decided to escape from the safety of his home and head out into the wild yonder on his own this week, Arvada police said. Bear "quickly became lost in a backyard jungle," officers said, and a search party was sent to find him.

Animal Management officers were able to find and rescue the small pup, police said. Bear was given a ride home and reunited with his owner.

Earlier this week, Patch reported on the rescue of a cat by the Arvada Fire Department. The poor feline got stuck about two stories up and had to be rescued by local firefighters.
