Arvada's Retired K-9 Officer Beaker Dies
"Beaker was truly a life saver," the Arvada Police Department said. "So long furry friend."

ARVADA, CO — A beloved, retired Arvada K-9 officer died this week, the Arvada Police Department announced Wednesday.
"Officer Brian Laas was Beaker's handler from 2011-2017," the department said.
"Officer Beaker made dozens of arrests and saved countless suspects and officers while on the job."

Laas cared for Beaker over the past few years, and had to make the difficult decision to say goodbye.
Beaker was featured in a national news story on the "Today Show," which focused on how K-9 training has been changing now that marijuana has been legalized.
