A new ranking includes the top 10 places to live in Jefferson County.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO — Evergreen is the top place to live in Jefferson County, according to a new Niche ranking.

The rankings were determined by using data from the U.S. Census Bureau, FBI, CDC and other agencies, combined with reviews from people that live in the area.

Top places to live in Jefferson County, and their overall Niche grade:

  2. Genesee: A
  3. Columbine: A
  4. Applewood: A
  5. Golden: A
  6. Ken Caryl: A-
  7. Arvada: A-
  8. Lakewood: B+
  9. Wheat Ridge: B+
  10. Edgewater: B+

Here are the categories that caused some cities to drop in the ranking:

  • Ken Caryl - Cost of Living: C
  • Arvada - Cost of Living: C; Crime & Safety: C+
  • Lakewood - Cost of Living: C-; Housing: C; Crime & Safety: C
  • Wheat Ridge - Cost of Living: C-; Housing: C
  • Edgewater - Housing: C-; Crime & Safety: C

Some of the largest cities in Jeffco were bumped higher in the ranking for their high scores in the Commute, Jobs, Public Schools and Nightlife categories.

Ideldale, Indian Hills, Mountain view, Coal Creek, Kittredge, Morrison and Aspen Park all received high grades in the ranking, but lost points in categories such as Commute, Housing and Nightlife.
