Dog-Bite Video At Arvada Restaurant Patio Gets Quick Response
Police found dog owner and identified woman bitten in the face at Rockabillies Bar and Grill Aug. 7
ARVADA, CO – It didn't take long for Arvada police to find the handler of a dog who allegedly bit a woman in the face at a local restaurant's outdoor patio.
"I put the video on Facebook asking for help and it blew up," said Arvada Police Public Information Officer Detective Dave Snelling. Police were trying to identify the people in an Aug. 7 video from Rockabillies Bar and Grill.
The video shows a woman leaning into a black and white husky's face and the dog biting her. A woman holding the dog's leash pulls the dog away and leaves, while a man and woman rush to the victim's aid. The woman who was bitten ended up in the hospital with injuries to her eye and had to undergo plastic surgery. She is expected to recover vision in her eye, Snelling said.

Shortly after the video was released, the woman who is fostering the dog came into the police station right away with an attorney, Snelling said.
The staff at Rockabillie's, at 12363 W 64th Ave, have made changes to their dog policy. "Due to liability of this establishment, no dogs on the patio. Thanks," a sign at the restaurant now says.

"The staff at [Rockabillies] have been incredibly cooperative and helpful," Snelling said.
Animal bites in Arvada are required to be reported to the city's animal control officer. The biting animal is required to be confined under observation for 10 days to make sure there are no symptoms of rabies.
"Since this dog bite happened more than 10 days ago, we didn't require the animal to be confined," Snelling said.
The owner of the dog will be given a ticket, if police haven't cited them already, Snelling said. "The officer is not going to recommend anything like euthanasia (for the dog) at this time, though."
