Dog Rescued In Arvada After 3 Weeks Away From Home

Taffy was startled by a thunderstorm three weeks ago and ran away from home.

ARVADA, CO — After spending three weeks away from home, a tired, hungry dog has been rescued by Arvada Animal Management.

When she was startled by a thunderstorm, Taffy escaped from her yard in Denver, the department said.

Taffy was found thin and exhausted in Arvada three weeks later, but she's expected to recover.

"Taffy is lucky to be safe after such an adventure and is a good reminder to anticipate storms and fireworks, update tags and microchips, and please report your pets missing to as many agencies and websites as possible!" Arvada Animal Management posted on the Arvada Police Department's Facebook page.
