G-Line Trains Finally To Start Test Runs Through Arvada
BREAKING: Trains with no passengers will be run through Wheat Ridge Arvada. Expect train whistles and closed crossing gates, RTD said.

ARVADA, CO – Finally! After what has seemed like an endless wait, G Line light rail trains – with no passengers aboard – will be starting to run in Arvada today, the Regional Transportation Department (RTD) announced. The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) approved RTD's expanded testing of the G Line this week.
Empty trains will be running in the Arvada and Wheat Ridge communities for up to 21 hours a day with train horns sounding frequently, RTD said.
Beginning July 20th, testing of as many as three trains is to take place every half hour starting as early as 3:30 a.m. and extending through 1 a.m. the following day, RTD said. The idea is to " help operators become familiar with the line," RTD said in a press release.

Arvada residents can look forward to train horn noise at intersections until quiet zones are established. RTD also warned that railroad crossings would be in use, and gates "may stay down for extended periods of time."
Human flaggers will be present at railroad crossings until RTD receives the necessary state and federal approvals to remove them, the agency said.
