Kids Getting 'Hands Dirty And Feet Wet' At Majestic View

Outdoor playdate every month gets kids out into nature at Arvada's Majestic View Nature Center.

ARVADA, CO – What's the best way to raise a Colorado kid? At the Majestic View Nature Center, programmers have recognized that giving children plenty of outdoor time playing and getting "hands dirty and feet wet" resonates with parents who want their children to spend some quality time in the outdoors.

Kids crawl over logs, build tents, and so lots of digging in this outdoor class offered monthly at Majestic View Nature Center.

Getting kids away from screens and getting plenty of Vitamin N (for Nature) is tough to find as a parent. Unstructured running around outside is a play experience that many kids don't get in today's world of school, supervised activities and daycare.

"We do this outdoor playdate every month," said Ana Hoover, assistant director of the nature center in a video. "They get to make a bird's nest out a natural materials, just like a bird."
