Snow is expected to fall in Denver's metro area Wednesday, according to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service. Some areas could see up to 3 inches of snow.

The snowfall will occur mainly after 2 p.m., weather officials said. The chance of precipitation is 30 percent Wednesday afternoon.

You can expect a mostly cloudy sky throughout the day, with a high around 39 degrees. Wind will gust up to 15 mph, the agency said.

A low around 22 can be expected Wednesday evening, and snow is likely, mainly overnight. The wind will become calmer, and the chance of precipitation will increase to 80 percent, according to the National Weather Service.

Then the clouds are expected to part for a sunny sky Thursday, with a high around 38.

You can also expect a sunny sky on Friday with a high around 45 degrees, weather officials said.

Metro Denver will also see a mostly sunny sky over the weekend.
