RTD Quiet Zone Meetings To Be Hosted In Arvada, Denver

ARVADA, CO — Residents who live near the G Line or A Line are invited to local Regional Transportation District open houses to gather information about quiet zones. The meetings will help to clarify why train horns are still heard in the so-called quiet zones.

The G Line to Arvada and Wheat Ridge opened in April, and the A Line runs from downtown Denver to Denver International Airport.

The designated quiet zones are areas along the routes where train operators don't have to routinely sound their horns at crossings; however, they can use horns if additional safety precautions are needed.

Representatives from Denver Transit Partners will also be at the open houses to answer questions.

The meetings will be held over the next few weeks:

• University of Colorado A Line - Monday, June 24 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Central Park Recreation Center, 9651 Martin Luther King Blvd.
• G Line pop-up road show - Saturday, June 29 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Arvada Ridge Station, 10189 W. 53rd Ave., Arvada
• University of Colorado A Line pop-up roadshow - Saturday, July 27 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Denver Human Services Center, 3815 Steele St., Denver
