Seltzer Taproom Elvtd At 5280 Opens In Arvada
The new seltzer taproom has taken over the former Grand Lake Brewing Tavern spot on Yukon Street.
ARVADA, CO — A new seltzer taproom, Elvtd at 5280, has opened in the old Grand Lake Brewing spot at 5610 Yukon Street in Olde Town Arvada. The new seltzery offers beer, cocktails and a variety of menu items.
The new taproom was created by two brothers, Hunter and Warren Wood. Their parents, Richard and Karen, opened Grand Lake Brewing near Rocky Mountain National Park nearly two decades ago, but retired earlier this year. Instead of taking on the family business, the Wood brothers wanted to try something new, and Elvtd at 5280 was born.
The taproom is Colorado's first seltzery, and possibly the first seltzery in the nation, according to Westword.

"We are the first company to be deemed a Seltzery which means we are a seltzer first, beer second operation," the Wood brothers state on the 5280 website. "Although we like to make straight up beer (nothing fancy, just good beer), we plan to release some funky creations while sticking to traditional styles and techniques. Our hard seltzer, on the other hand, is crafted to be different. With our seltzers, we plan to expand the world of cocktails while making each one enjoyable on its own."
