Trail Cleanup in Arvada

Odysessy Beerwerks and Taluna Distillery partner up to clean Ralston Creek Trail

On a sunny spring Sunday, volunteers and neighbors joined fellow local business owners, Odyseey Beerkwerks and Taluna Distillery to help with their biannual trail cleanup. Around 40 volunteers joined the cleanup, mostly all from Arvada or a surrounding town.

The cleanup lasted about one hour and they collected almost an entire van full of trash, including a full-size dolly, shopping cart, and enough clothing to dress a person from head to toe. While the work might have gotten some a little dirty as they fished out plastic bags from the creek, you could see the smiles through the volunteer's masks.

"When I heard about the clean-up day on Sunday, I asked, where do I sign up!" says volunteer Doug Smith who was visiting his daughter who is running for Arvada City Council this November.

Upon completion of the cleanup, Taluna and Odyseey offered a free beverage of their choice for the help. Volunteers spent time outside with their beverage meeting other like-minded volunteers from the community. In the air, a sense of pre-covid times started to surface, with many eager to get back outside to volunteer again.
