6 Honored For Conservation Work In Boulder County
Boulder's Parks & Open Space Land Conservation Awards will be presented in a ceremony Thursday.

BOULDER, CO -- Many of the people who arrive in Boulder are lured here by the trails, access to the outdoors, and ethos of environmentalism. However, this Thursday, April 11, six individuals and organizations will be honored by the Boulder County Parks & Open Space Department for their exceptional contributions to conservation, preservation, and protection of land-based environmental resources in the Boulder Valley.
The 2018 Parks & Open Space Land Conservation Awards will be presented on April 11 at 3 p.m. at the Ron Stewart Parks & Open Space office, 5201 St. Vrain Road, Longmont.
This year's awards, to be presented by the county commissioners, include:

- Land Conservation Award to Elizabeth Black for tireless and selfless dedication to Boulder County agriculture.
- Environmental Stewardship Award to Janet George for over thirty years of collaboration on wildlife management in the region.
- Partnership Award to Crocs for outstanding contribution to projects at Heil Valley Ranch.
- Volunteer Awards will be presented to: Betty Musfeldt for outstanding contribution as a cultural history volunteer; and Claudia Theim and Kathleen Andres for outstanding contribution as Master Gardener volunteers.
