Boulder County Aligns With State Public Health Order

BOULDER, CO — State public health orders apply to all Boulder County residents, public health officials announced Thursday.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment released an amended public health order through Aug. 1.

Under the state order, Boulder County has revised:

• Modifications to remove mask requirements in schools and the Division of Motor Vehicles, added a requirement that unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated staff use medical grade masks, and added a strong recommendation that COVID-19 testing be done for unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated staff in homeless shelters, prisons, jails, and emergency medical and other health care settings
• Repealed the requirement for schools to follow the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment outbreak guidance
• Reduced the hospital reporting requirement from 7 to 5 days per week, Monday through Friday

For Boulder County residents, it is important to note:

• Schools, daycares and camps: no longer have any requirements under the Public Health Order.
• Public transportation: CDC’s order for face masks for ages 2 and older on public transportation and in transportation hubs remains in effect. This applies to public buses, trains, air transportation, ride sharing, etc.
• Homeless shelters, jails, prisons, and emergency medical and other healthcare settings: masks are required for all patients, residents and visitors who are unvaccinated or are not fully vaccinated.
• Long term care/skilled nursing: still subject to PHO 20-20.
