Boulder County Coronavirus Update: 526 New Cases

BOULDER COUNTY, CO — Over the past week, 526 new cases of the coronavirus have been reported in Boulder County, according to the latest public health data.

As of Sunday, 21,595 people in the county had tested positive for the virus since the outbreak began. The death toll has remained steady at 250 over the past three weeks.

More than 72,458 Boulder County residents — or 26.4 percent of the eligible population — are fully immunized, according to Boulder County Public Health. Around 131,240 residents — 47.9 percent of the county — have received at least one vaccine.

Around 749 people have been hospitalized in the county since the outbreak began, and 43 new hospitalizations were reported over the past week. More than 479,600 tests have been conducted among county residents.

  • Boulder: 251 new cases reported over past week; 8,057 total cases
  • Longmont: 155 new cases reported over past week; 7,175 total cases
  • Lafayette: 48 new cases reported over past week; 1,669 total cases
  • Unincorporated Boulder County: 69 new cases reported over past week; 1,883 total cases
  • Erie: 30 new cases reported over past week; 563 total cases
  • Louisville: 37 new cases reported over past week; 960 total cases
  • Superior: 17 new cases reported over past week; 440 total cases

Between Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon, 1,064 new cases of the coronavirus were reported in Colorado. The state has seen a recent surge of cases in what public health officials are calling the 'fourth wave.'
